Heey heey! It’s time for goals update again! If this is your first time reading the goal update, welcome! Towards the end of every month I write monthly updates about my goals I have set from the beginning of this new year. This way it keeps me accountable and a fun way to see my own growth. I’m sharing sharing my blog growth, what I have learned etc, Personal goals and financial goals. ( this update is soo late, so sorry!)
This might be so boring for some of you and you are excused if you aren’t bothered with my goals updates! Won’t hate you for it!
Can I just say I’ve never experienced a month that fly by so soon! February is such a short month for me I want to go back an repeat again! But too late for that now:(
Since coming back from blogging world in November 2014, with only averaging 50 hits a day. With only 15 subscribers to a huge spike coming from bigger bloggers (featured) it has shaken and opened my eyes of potential it is possible to reach higher and newer audience! Blogging IS fun and exciting and a never ending learning process that keeps changing and won’t go away. There are amazing bloggers out there who are doing such an AMAZING JOB and inspires you and you just want to become a better blogger too.
So at the end of 2014 I did something I never did, a bit unusual.. starting making goals. I was ready being serious, with life – financial and blogging. So beginning of January I started the year with 31 Days To a Pretty organized Home series, which was a success. Now let’s find out how February has been.
I have been fighting with viruses and hacks on my laptop, seriously it was like it didn’t want me to blog. So the first year of February was a bit of jibberish! But I fought through and came back, hopefully this scenario won’t happen again! I noticed a huge spike of traffic coming from Pinterest on second week, which turned into an increase of ad stream ( it gave this blogger a boost). I doubled the amount from what I’ve made in January whole month. that to me is huge and exciting to see! One note though: I am not fully monetizing yet
Writing: From the beginning of this year, one of my goals were improving my writing on this blog. I never was a writer or good at nor did I ever wanted to become one. But blogging for a while and getting serious into, I am starting to understand the reasons why reading is so important! lol. Also, speaking 3 different kind of languages its HARD to find the right words and put it in a sentence that makes sense lol. So writing would be always an ongoing process for me, I hope in March I put my best foot and check my sentences and everything inbetween. What do you think of my writing? Does it slack or it’s alright? Would love to hear from you!
Posting: I’ve set a goal of posting at least 5 times a week. With life getting in the way it is just impossible. So excuse me if I posted less.
Pinterest: My presence on Pinterest is getting better! I am not sure if I ever mentioned but my profile was basically dead. Not long ago I felt horrible for months for not having any interaction and followers. So I worked hard for the beginning of this year and Pinterest is rewarding me GOOD! At least better than before. I would love to get into deeper about Pinterest and share with you all, if you are interested? I am in middle of writing of how I got my printerest profile come alive from the death. lol
Facebook: I was surprised to see my likes growing, but saddend of my lack of showing interest back! But this will changed!!
my pageviews : Iam totally starting all over again like I mentioned in the beginning of this post. But my pageview weren’t bad for someone who hasn’t posted a lot, but I am noticing how slow I am being with everything related with blogging stuff.
Behind the scene
I’ve been working a lot behind the scene. Something unexpected and not planned came up, and that is in fact clean up the website design. You see, I’ve been working very hard for a year to design my blog. The Blogger Mistake I made in 2014 is to focus on my design instead of my content. So I am at a point where I only want to focus on GOOD content and let the design of this blog do the work it self. The old design was just too cluttered and crowded, I barely could breathe and there was no way I was going to spend any time or energy on it! I’ve found a theme I LOVED and patiently i’ve waited a week to purchase the new theme and oh my that was such a hardcore thing to do (waiting). But i did it!!
I worked on it, while everyone else could still see the old blog theme and I could only see the new theme!
Using tthis plugin called Theme Test Drive I’ve been able to do little work behind the scene while you all saw only the old blog theme. In a short amount of time ( a week) I was ready to launch and get the site just go live. It’s work in progress but so far this theme just perfect!
What I have Learned:
Not to put all your eggs in 1 basket! Pinterest is great, but focusing on one platform isn’t a smartest thing to do. Spread yourself a bit elsewhere and find what platforms you can work with and see if there are familiar bloggers there too! ( you’ll be surprised finding bloggers)
I am starting to use google+ more and Stumble Upon <–this platform is confusing to me but I am willing to understand.
Goal for March.
- Keep improving your writing. edit edit edit edit!
- post 3-5 times a week. Just publish already!
- Increase your pageview to 10.000+
- Pinterest Be presence, pin – repin and send traffic to your blog!
- Facebook: Create a facebook place you would love to spend there and keep posting no matter what!
- FOCUS on GOOD content, that helps others and is informative.
- Start using link parties again!
- interact and have fun!
Homeschooling: My oldest still goes to public school, but I homeschool him with religion study and we suceeded that! He is so bright and I am learning so much from him. He makes this study so easy!
Exersize: I’ve been able to squeeze twice a week, so thumbs up that!
Wake up earlier: It is my goal to wake up early EVERY DAY, but honestly this girl needs rest too! But here is what I came up. Mon- wedn- Th and Sat , are the times I will wake up 5 AM and the rest of the days I will get up around 7 am. It’s better for me this way.
Pray: I don’t know why it is so hard for me to pray 5 times a day! I am kicking myself everyday for not doing it! Thankfully at the end of February I have been able to do this and still doing it!
Our goal for this year is to pay off my student loan of 1800 Euro’s ( Studied in Netherlands) by the 31 December 2015. Is it possible? I like to think so!
With the goal of how much we would like to pay off every month, we should be able to do it.
We are down to 1360 euros. I am shocked and excited to see the number so low! I’ve kept applying my best frugal saving tips really helped us to pay off.
Did you set up goals?
How are you doing so far?
